How to Play (STAND & DRAW PHASE)

Setting up » Stand & Draw Phases » Energy & Chara Phases + SPARK » Ability Phase

STARTING THE GAME:

After a gruesome match of rock-paper-scissors, we determined that the "SEGA" player won and gets to start first.

Before we proceed, let's briefly run through the key phases of a single player's turn cycle:

(1) STAND phase
(2) DRAW phase
(3) ENERGY phase
(4) CHARACTER phase
(5) ABILITY phase
(6) ATTACK phase
6.1 Attack Declaration step
6.2 Attack Resolution step
(7) END phase

It is extremely important to note that all phases are done in the order as shown above, and that players cannot return to a previous phase of that same turn.

(1) STAND PHASE:

During the very first turn in a game, both players flip their own ring card to their upside.

The turn's player shall set all his/her cards in the Bench and Energy slot from "Rest" to "Stand" position.
- If the card is in "Reverse" position, that card will be changed to "Rest" instead

Now move on to the next phase.

(2) DRAW PHASE:

IMPORTANT!
Only the first player CANNOT draw a card on his/her very first turn.

For any other turn, the player draws 1 card from the top of his/her Deck pile.

* A lot of new players tend to commit the mistake of drawing a card before standing. In official matches, such action will result in the act of skipping your Stand phase for that turn.

[That's all to it to this phase. Moving on to… Energy Phase!]
